This elegant shallow bowl bears the distinguished insignia of the famed Café de la Paix, an iconic Parisian establishment neighboring the Opéra Garnier. Produced by Bauscher Weiden, a renowned Bavarian porcelain manufacturer known for its durable hotelware, the piece likely dates to the mid-20th century and was distributed in France by S.E.F.I. of Neuilly-sur-Seine. Crafted in high-fired porcelain, it was made to withstand the rigors of fine dining service while maintaining its refined charm (in other words, will last a lifetime). The bowl’s classic proportions (approximately 5.25" diameter and 1.25" in height/depth) and storied provenance lend it both functional appeal and cultural resonance, evoking the golden age of grand European cafés. Dreamy!
