I feel very lucky to have found this 1964 edition of Japan: A History in Art, by Bradley Smith. The sizable book is in incredible condition for its age, with no page defects and very little noticeable exterior wear. Measuring 12.5in. in length, 9in. in width, and 1.5in. in height, it'd be suitable as a coffee table book or showpiece on a bookshelf, due to its rich maroon color and metallic gold accents. The book itself presents the history of Japan through twenty centuries, as seen and recorded by various artists and through various mediums (paintings, sculptures, and graphics). As a first edition, this book is unfortunately missing its jacket, but in my opinion, looks even better bared without it.
