This travel alarm clock is a token of early 1900's innovation, with 15 jewels inlaid in its design and a protective leather exterior. Although the clock is inoperable, it could likely be repaired or used simply as a piece of desk decor. As a pre-owned item, the exterior shows visible wear though I appreciate the patina and signs of use. This is a favorite find of mine, as I love the uniqueness of its contractable form and the beauty of its dial.

Bailey Banks & Biddle was a retailer of jewelry and designer of medals that was formed in Pennsylvania in 1832. The company was commissioned by the U.S. government at the turn of the century (according to the Hagley Museum and Library), to update the Seal of the United States and design a number of military insignias, most of which are still in use today.
